In April 2004 MVFD attended the West EMS Extreme Extrication Class.
The class was divided into two sections, a basic class and an advanced class.
The basic class was geared toward the students who had limited experience with the hydraulic extrication tools.
The advanced class brought to light new techniques and with that, new ways of thinking.
Basic Class
Angie Harris and Eric Nutt taking in some info
from the instructor.
Sometimes you can't help but smile when you
have the power in your hands for the first time.
Some of the tools
that were used.
By the end of the day everyone came away with a
little knowledge and the car...well see for yourself!

Members attending the Basic Class
were:
Angie Harris
Crystal Warford
Eric Nutt
Andrea Lombardo
and
Kenny West
Special Thanks to all of the instructors
that were out there.  They were very
patient and took the time to make
sure everyone learned something.
At the end of the day everyone was eager
to try out the knowledge that was obtained.
But notice that they are smiling.  Wait until
you see the faces of the guys in the
advanced class!!!
Advanced Class
J.D. from West popping a door on an overturned
van.
Noah's Ark Conversion
Mike using a DeWalt reciprocating saw to cut
through the sheet metal of a van roof.
Here's proof that the roof of a car can be cut off
while it is upside down.
MVFD Chief James Adams
Do you see any smiles on these faces???

The West EMS Extreme Extrication is an excellent class that everyone benefited from.
We can't wait until they host another one.
